long overdue

Another great January session! I can’t remember the exact timeframe, but I know it had been years since this family had done family photos… maybe since their little girl was under a year? I can’t remember, but they were long overdue!

Always makes me happy to capture the parents all on their own. I know how rare it is to get these shots once the kids enter the scene.

Their handsome boy who is surely growing up way too fast for them. ~

And their beautiful little girl who was just a perfect little model for me ~

Speaking of their little girl, she knew exactly how she wanted this next shot set up and where. I’ve got to hand it to her because it turned out to be one of my very favorite shots ever. I will be hopeful that one day I too will have a shot like this of my own kids.

I’m always so excited when clients introduce me to new places… This park is a gem located in La Mirada. Can you even believe those beautiful fall leaves in the background? I was blown away by the color. Just such a nice setting for photos.

Time to catch up! I’ve had so many great sessions already this year and haven’t given them very much love here on the good ole’ blog. Time to backtrack a bit… Why not start from January to the present!

Here is one of my “baby plan” babes at six months. (Check out her newborn session here.) This is one of my favorite sessions to date!




Two of my very favorite shots ~


She was literally laughing at the trees blowing in the wind. It was the cutest thing to watch. Could hardly stay still from my own giggles.

And I just got the best news today about this lovely little one… She landed her first modeling gig! Its for Infantino baby carriers and slings. You can bet I’ll be stalking the baby section in Target from now on until I see her smiling little face looking down on me from the shelf. I can’t wait!

engaged to be married

Okay, are you ready for photo overload? I am! I can’t get enough of these photos. Such a great couple and incredibly easy to photograph…

We did their engagement session at Laguna Beach. I think its so cool that we didn’t just take photos on the beach, but that we found some cool spots among the restaurants and stores, mostly in the back alleys… such great finds!

Plopped them down right on the sidewalk because I loved the flowers behind them. They were such sports, willing to sit anywhere for me.

And when the sun was in a better position, we finally made our way to the water…

And yeah, I shared like 20 photos of these two, but I coudn’t help it, I have so many favorites.

What I loved the most about this session (besides just getting to know them) was how easy they were to capture. I never had to ask them to kiss or look lovingly at each other. They just did it and I love that they were comfortable enough with me to be themselves and enjoy the moment.

Their wedding is in June and I can’t wait to capture that day for them. I feel honored to be trusted with such an important day in their lives.

new blog & sneak peek!

My first post on my new blog! I’ve been tweaking this thing for days and finally am ready to share it with you. I can’t say I love working with WordPress, but I love its style and am excited about the facelift. You’ll have to tell me what you think.

I am LOVING the photos I’m working on right now… An engagement session for a couple that I will also see again in June when I shoot their wedding. I will for sure share more later about this couple and the great fun we had in Laguna, but for now I want to share just a couple of my faves. Poor things have been waiting patiently for their sneak peek which is way over due at this point.

I had the extreme pleasure of not only catching up with an old high school friend the other day, but I also got to take photos of her beautiful family… Julpha, it was awesome catching up with you. Here are just a few of my favorites ~

The main reason for the session was to celebrate their little boy’s first birthday. He is just a doll and such a happy little guy ~

But we also captured several photos of their daughter that I wish I could put all over my own home!
