Let’s not get ahead of ourselves… Now that it feels like summer is just around the corner, let’s go back and see a little spring!

Yep, we really did have spring! And these two little ones are perfect to show for it!

holiday mini-sessions, round one
Posted on November 23, 2010
I am super pleased with how my mini-sessions turned out this year… They seemed to be stress-free and successful with the short blocks of time we had. I think a mini-session is just right for keeping it fresh with the kids and then ending it quickly while the going is still good. I definitely think I’m going to work harder next year to get more people in on the fun because its just too easy for getting those fantastic holiday shots that all of us want for our cards.
Here is a quick glance at my first round of mini sessions ~
Not so much a holiday mini session as it was a chance to capture this little cutie in her first Halloween costume. She has been known as a ladybug since she was in her mama’s belly so there could not have been a more fitting costume.
The first time I photographed this family the oldest boy was the age of the baby. I could not believe how much the kids had grown and they were SO GOOD for me. There is nothing better than kids that are excited to have their photos taken!
This family always blows me away with their holiday attire – its something I look forward to! This year did not disappoint and I LOVED the pink! I also loved how easy the girls were to photograph this year and although little brother wasn’t as easy, he was fantastic for the family shots.
Who says two year olds can’t be easy? Not me! This little girl was a dream to photograph. And it was a fantastic way to end my morning! Looking forward to next year when this family of three will become a family of four… How exciting!
Thank you to all my wonderful and patient clients! It was great catching up and I am so grateful that I can help document the lives of your families. It is one of my greatest joys.

blessed and grateful
Posted on November 13, 2010
When I began this line of “work”, I didn’t anticipate how awesome it would be watching little people grow. I knew it would happen, of course, and I hoped I would be called upon to capture it. But I didn’t realize how it would bless me to be part of the journey with these families. To be on the journey with them. Sure, I’m not there for the day to day and only a few times a year, at best. But truly, to begin the journey at whatever stage, and especially at the newborn stage, then to watch how their beauty and spirits unfold, its a joy. And a privilege. And something to be cherished.
What I just wrote, I am feeling a lot this season. So many of my holiday clients are return clients. People I see year after year or even a couple times a year. I feel extremely blessed and grateful to be part of the journey.
I met this little one almost two years ago as a newborn. She was so beautiful then, and is even more so every time I see her. (Newborn and six months.)

She has a sweet and playful spirit.

I was amazed at how well she kept up with her brother, or at least tried to. She is almost two and very capable. I got the distinct impression that she is hard to keep up with herself.

Thank you “E” family! I love being on this journey with you!
we did great!

More from the last post… I’m just so happy with these photos! The kids each gave me 15 minutes of greatness right off the bat and it shows!

What a great session! I’ll be back soon with others to share. I’ve been busy as a bee around here!

Well, more than just “good”.
Just a little sneak peek for two very patient parents ~

So many beautiful shots of these two kiddos. I hope mom and dad will feel assured by these. I can’t wait to show them the rest!

clown

When I left this session, I wondered if I had captured any “normal” shots of this little guy… And by normal, I of course mean the kind that mom will love. I am sure she loves the goofy boy equally, but somehow I don’t think she wants goofy boy on the wall.

I was thrilled to find out I had enough “normal” to work with and I’ll be back soon to share a couple. Not to mention, some of his little sister too, whom the session was really about.

sneak peek
Posted on July 6, 2010
From the moment I got home and uploaded these images, I knew I would love them. Okay, I take that back – From the moment I snapped them, I knew I would love them.

I first met this family a little over a year ago when I photographed their oldest at one year. (See here and here.)Geez, I thought he was a beautiful child then, but look at him now ~

And this year our focus was on his little brother since he was turning one ~

Equally beautiful. I can’t imagine how these parents can possibly take their eyes off their sweet little faces.

We had such a great time that day, let alone that I was in heaven just driving through their beautiful neighborhood in Pasadena – a photographer’s paradise, that’s for sure.
Thank you “R” family. Thanks for sharing your home and your afternoon with me. And thanks for patiently waiting for your gallery, as I know you are probably very anxious by now to see all of them. I promise I won’t keep you in suspense much longer.

one year old and all smiles
Posted on June 11, 2010
One of the best parts of my “job” is watching little ones grow. I consider it a privilege to photograph newborns, but then to photograph them through their first year, well, its an honor. And an absolute joy.
This little guy gave me one of my favorite newborn sessions. And he was a beautiful 4 month old. Seeing him as a one year old, with all his smiles and good natured little self was awesome.
(He had some awesome dance moves as well.)

I also photographed his big brother as a newborn. I was lucky enough to capture some great sibling shots, like this one:

Thank you Wright Family! I hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek. I can’t wait to show you the rest. Your boys are precious and your family holds a special place in my heart.
