holiday mini-sessions, round two
Posted on December 4, 2010
My second round of mini-sessions was so much fun… All were old faces, just like the first round, which is a beautiful and comforting thing for me. To catch up, marvel at how the kids have grown, marvel at how there is now a “kid”, and be entertained by these littles and their parents, well, it really is a special thing for me. I love my job and it blesses me over and over in ways that I hold very dear to my heart.
~
Being with this family is like being with old family friends. They are very special to me. I LOVE watching the kids grow. Their daughter is pure sunshine. I can’t explain it. She has that special charisma about her. What I found interesting was how I can see it in her little brother too. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, that’s for sure.
This family is very animated to me and that is why I chose these photos to share.
Not even two and little brother is picking up the act of pesky little brother quite well, don’t you think?
The last time I photographed this couple she was wearing white and he was in a tux… Life has certainly changed for these two, and in a beautiful way.
Wouldn’t you agree?
It wasn’t that long ago since I saw this little beauty, but how she has changed in such a short time! The hair for one thing! And she’s a walker now too! It’s the best watching them grow in that first year… This next photo says it all.

These kids were begging me to keep taking their photos at the end of their session… I’m not kidding. Begging. Just ask mom. I’ve never seen anything like it. And I couldn’t be more grateful. What a fun way to end my day.
The last kiddos are also the same ages as mine. Makes me wonder when I’m going to get our photos taken for our cards this year…. Hmmm. Maybe the week before Christmas as usual. That’s just how it goes around here. And somehow I don’t think they will be as cooperative as these guys were. Also how it goes around here.
Hope you enjoyed this little sneak peek. I’m so excited for each of you!

overdue sneak peek

Seriously, one of my favorite families… I so missed them last year, but it made this year even more special when we met up.

The first time I met these girls was four years ago. I think that’s right. Each year I am amazed how they can keep getting more beautiful… and the cooperation factor, well, its never been difficult with these girls. But even more so now, they are just cake.

There is LOTS of love for little brother.

And for each other, all the way around.

If only my four year old was as cooperative as this kid. He was a gem. A GEM.
I really am holding out on you Alycia… Just wait till you see the one of you and this sweet little guy of yours!
Yeah, I like to tease.
I just had the best time with you guys!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making my job so easy and 100% enjoyable.
I love you guys! Can’t wait to see your holiday cards this year!

holiday mini-sessions, round one
Posted on November 23, 2010
I am super pleased with how my mini-sessions turned out this year… They seemed to be stress-free and successful with the short blocks of time we had. I think a mini-session is just right for keeping it fresh with the kids and then ending it quickly while the going is still good. I definitely think I’m going to work harder next year to get more people in on the fun because its just too easy for getting those fantastic holiday shots that all of us want for our cards.
Here is a quick glance at my first round of mini sessions ~
Not so much a holiday mini session as it was a chance to capture this little cutie in her first Halloween costume. She has been known as a ladybug since she was in her mama’s belly so there could not have been a more fitting costume.
The first time I photographed this family the oldest boy was the age of the baby. I could not believe how much the kids had grown and they were SO GOOD for me. There is nothing better than kids that are excited to have their photos taken!
This family always blows me away with their holiday attire – its something I look forward to! This year did not disappoint and I LOVED the pink! I also loved how easy the girls were to photograph this year and although little brother wasn’t as easy, he was fantastic for the family shots.
Who says two year olds can’t be easy? Not me! This little girl was a dream to photograph. And it was a fantastic way to end my morning! Looking forward to next year when this family of three will become a family of four… How exciting!
Thank you to all my wonderful and patient clients! It was great catching up and I am so grateful that I can help document the lives of your families. It is one of my greatest joys.

More from the last post… I’m just so happy with these photos! The kids each gave me 15 minutes of greatness right off the bat and it shows!

What a great session! I’ll be back soon with others to share. I’ve been busy as a bee around here!

his little sister
Posted on July 13, 2010
That funny little guy from the last post, well, he has a cutie-patootie sister and I’ve had the extreme pleasure of capturing her throughout her first year. See here for her newborn post and since I never posted from her six month session, here’s one of my favorites:

And here she is now at one year:

What an honor it is to capture these little ones through their first year of life. Thank you “S” family… It was a joy photographing Makayla and your family.

From the moment I got home and uploaded these images, I knew I would love them. Okay, I take that back – From the moment I snapped them, I knew I would love them.

I first met this family a little over a year ago when I photographed their oldest at one year. (See here and here.)Geez, I thought he was a beautiful child then, but look at him now ~

And this year our focus was on his little brother since he was turning one ~

Equally beautiful. I can’t imagine how these parents can possibly take their eyes off their sweet little faces.

We had such a great time that day, let alone that I was in heaven just driving through their beautiful neighborhood in Pasadena – a photographer’s paradise, that’s for sure.
Thank you “R” family. Thanks for sharing your home and your afternoon with me. And thanks for patiently waiting for your gallery, as I know you are probably very anxious by now to see all of them. I promise I won’t keep you in suspense much longer.

sneak peek: for her birthday
Posted on April 9, 2010
This session was scheduled as a birthday present… Two girls and their father – the oldest daughter’s birthday wish was to have family photos taken and I loved hearing that. I don’t think there is a better gift you can give yourself or your family.

Here’s the birthday girl on the left and her lovely little sister on the right.
Such sweet girls, very close in age, and I couldn’t help but think about how they matched the beautiful flowers so nicely…
And their dad… Quiet at first, but by the time we were finished I could clearly see the loving and playful dad that I’m sure these girls feel so blessed to have.

I had so much fun with this family and I truly enjoyed getting to know them during our session. Can’t wait to show you the rest “A” family and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
sneak peek: Gerber baby

Just kept seeing his face on baby food jars… So darn cute and a joy to photograph.

He was all over the place, as you would expect any one year old crawler to be. And mom scored by bringing the Easter basket. There was no stopping him otherwise.

But we did have some brief moments of stillness…

How friendly… And at such a young age too!

This little guy never really responded to the normal noises I might make to get the attention of my smallest clients… Not that I have a vast array of sounds I can make. Unfortunately. But in the end I found that the “Wheels on the Bus” worked wonders. Maybe I should just stick to singing.

Had a great time with this family and was just so happy to be capturing their precious little boy at the one year mark. Can’t wait to show them the rest!
Happy Birthday “Mr. P”! Hope you thoroughly enjoy your first birthday cake. Show your parents a good time with that cake, will ya?
