holiday mini-sessions, round one
Posted on November 23, 2010
I am super pleased with how my mini-sessions turned out this year… They seemed to be stress-free and successful with the short blocks of time we had. I think a mini-session is just right for keeping it fresh with the kids and then ending it quickly while the going is still good. I definitely think I’m going to work harder next year to get more people in on the fun because its just too easy for getting those fantastic holiday shots that all of us want for our cards.
Here is a quick glance at my first round of mini sessions ~
Not so much a holiday mini session as it was a chance to capture this little cutie in her first Halloween costume. She has been known as a ladybug since she was in her mama’s belly so there could not have been a more fitting costume.
The first time I photographed this family the oldest boy was the age of the baby. I could not believe how much the kids had grown and they were SO GOOD for me. There is nothing better than kids that are excited to have their photos taken!
This family always blows me away with their holiday attire – its something I look forward to! This year did not disappoint and I LOVED the pink! I also loved how easy the girls were to photograph this year and although little brother wasn’t as easy, he was fantastic for the family shots.
Who says two year olds can’t be easy? Not me! This little girl was a dream to photograph. And it was a fantastic way to end my morning! Looking forward to next year when this family of three will become a family of four… How exciting!
Thank you to all my wonderful and patient clients! It was great catching up and I am so grateful that I can help document the lives of your families. It is one of my greatest joys.
blessed and grateful

When I began this line of “work”, I didn’t anticipate how awesome it would be watching little people grow. I knew it would happen, of course, and I hoped I would be called upon to capture it. But I didn’t realize how it would bless me to be part of the journey with these families. To be on the journey with them. Sure, I’m not there for the day to day and only a few times a year, at best. But truly, to begin the journey at whatever stage, and especially at the newborn stage, then to watch how their beauty and spirits unfold, its a joy. And a privilege. And something to be cherished.
What I just wrote, I am feeling a lot this season. So many of my holiday clients are return clients. People I see year after year or even a couple times a year. I feel extremely blessed and grateful to be part of the journey.
I met this little one almost two years ago as a newborn. She was so beautiful then, and is even more so every time I see her. (Newborn and six months.)

She has a sweet and playful spirit.

I was amazed at how well she kept up with her brother, or at least tried to. She is almost two and very capable. I got the distinct impression that she is hard to keep up with herself.

Thank you “E” family! I love being on this journey with you!
sunshine

Sunny. Sunshine. Sunflower. Shine. Bright.
That’s me trying to pick a title. I’m so creative, huh? But this little one year old is pure sunshine. I loved photographing her and her smile is absolutely contagious.
I promised her mommy that she would at least have a sneak peek waiting for her when she woke up Saturday morning. I hope she loves these as much as I do, but I also want her to know that I didn’t necessarily pick my favorites. How’s that for teasing?

Hope you enjoyed! Will be back soon with a few more!
for you mom…

because I know you are just dying for something… anything!
This will make it worse though, I promise!

How beautiful and Gerber like is this baby?!!!
Let me tell you, this was mom’s and my second favorite dress!
Can you only imagine?

(And yes, her eyes are really that blue. I didn’t do anything additional to them other than my normal color processing to the image as a whole.)
So mom, do I need to check on you after this sneak peek?
Totally kidding… I just appreciate your patience. I promise it will totally be worth the wait! And the wait, my friend, is almost over.
a teasing teaser

I thought this was an appropriate image to use for a teaser ~

Baby is teasing right along with me.

More from the last post… I’m just so happy with these photos! The kids each gave me 15 minutes of greatness right off the bat and it shows!

What a great session! I’ll be back soon with others to share. I’ve been busy as a bee around here!
we did good..

Well, more than just “good”.
Just a little sneak peek for two very patient parents ~

So many beautiful shots of these two kiddos. I hope mom and dad will feel assured by these. I can’t wait to show them the rest!
his little sister

That funny little guy from the last post, well, he has a cutie-patootie sister and I’ve had the extreme pleasure of capturing her throughout her first year. See here for her newborn post and since I never posted from her six month session, here’s one of my favorites:

And here she is now at one year:

What an honor it is to capture these little ones through their first year of life. Thank you “S” family… It was a joy photographing Makayla and your family.

These shots exemplify why we love you Debbie! You have such a gift. You not only take amazing pictures, but you capture moments, which is what it’s all about. These are great photos and I’m sure the families they belong to will be thrilled to have them.
Thank you for that Alycia! I try, and I love the process. You are sweet to comment, but hey, you are also one of my best cheerleaders.
Thank you! Don’t worry, yours are up next!
